SteamID FAQ

What is a SteamID?

A SteamID is the account identifier Steam uses for a player. Counter-Strike servers, plugins and bans usually store SteamID (STEAM_0:1:xxxx) or SteamID64 (the 17-digit number). This finder converts between those formats and the Steam community profile.

What is the difference between SteamID, SteamID3 and SteamID64?

SteamID (Steam2) looks like STEAM_0:1:123. SteamID3 looks like [U:1:247] and is used in Source 2 / CS2 configs. SteamID64 is the 7656119… number used in Steam Web API calls and community URLs. They all point to the same account.

How do I find my SteamID?

Open your Steam profile in a browser. If the URL is steamcommunity.com/profiles/7656119… that number is your SteamID64. If it is steamcommunity.com/id/name, paste that custom URL here. You can also paste STEAM_0:x:x from a server status command or a CS friend code.

Does this work with CS friend codes?

Yes. CS friend codes such as SUCVS-FADA convert to the same Steam account as SteamID64. Trade offer URLs are not supported.

Is SteamID conversion free?

Yes. Lookup is free and does not require a login. Vanity URL and profile data use Steam Web API on the server. Rate limit is 30 lookups per minute per IP.
